Meredith's Many Big Babies- 12 lbs.- Home and Hospital

My 1st one was born in a hospital. Since I was laying on my back she had shoulder dystocia and they insisted on cutting me. After that I tore from the top of my clitoris to the very inside of my bottom. I was very sore for almost a year. She was only 9 lbs., 14oz.

My 2nd baby was born at home 5 years later. She was posterior but I didn't tear even a little bit . I had her standing over the toilet, and within 2 days I was back to normal. Felt like nothing had happened! She was 10 lbs., 9oz.

My 3rd was also at home but she came so fast I didn't have to push my guts out for once and the midwife even had to hold her back. No tearing again. She was only 7 lbs., 14 oz. and ended up with a lot of neurological problems but they were found only later.

My last baby was a monster! She was so big she wouldn't move down the birth canal. Finally after 8 1/2 hours of real HARD labor, at 2-3 min apart, they could feel her head way up in there. To get her to come out I had to find her bottom through my stomach and push from the top with my hands as I was pushing internally. Afterwards I was of course sore but only was stretched down there, once again no tearing.  She was 12 pounds and 23 3/4" long.

Now tell me we weren't meant to have babies.

I am 5' 10" tall so that will make a little difference. But the midwives and the way they knew to move me just right and put pressure on me down there prevented the babies getting stuck and prevented tearing!
