My pregnancy was very fulfilling and wonder filled.

I was very excited, my first baby was lost to adoption and I had a great deal of guilt to overcome.

Also felt a lot of pressure to perform as I was an apprentice midwife.

My labor: Long, arduous, disquieting but so very powerful and rewarding!

It became the corner stone for the way I wanted to fulfill my calling as a midwife.

The first month: TRIUMPHANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved being a momma. Nursing was so wonderful.

Feelings then till now: Unchanged. My son is 30 years old and our precious beginnings have left us with a
family legacy of closeness.

I learned: Trust, in myself, my husband, my midwives, in the inherent perfection of the birthing process.
Patience, personal forgiveness.

Words of wisdom: We are God's most perfect creation and I choose to trust that I as a woman was not born
broken. My body was created to give birth to my children, as are we all.
