How was your pregnancy? Great
How did you feel about your upcoming birth? Nervous, he was my first, but had done all the reading and felt positive
Description of your birth experience:
HARD! First stage labor was 37 hours, second stage labor was 2.5 hours. It was hard labor, with double peaking contractions about 7 hours into labor. Baby was posterior and every time my midwife turned him, he turned right back. I stayed strong, due to my birth team (midwife, midwife's apprentice, doula, husband, and mom joined 26 hours in) and was able to give birth at home after AROM at 36 hours.
How did you feel after the birth (first month)?
GREAT! Absolutely no tearing, small "skidmark". My bottom healed quickly.
How did you feel six months after the birth? One year? Now?
Great.
What did you learn from this birth?
That my body is able to birth as big of a baby as it grows. Trust in my body and myself. I am an amazing woman.
Any words of wisdom to impart? Trust your baby, trust your body, trust your birth.
