When Unborn Rights Trump Maternal Rights

 

A short video produced by the National Advocates for Pregnant Women to show the possible implications of Colorado’s Amendment 48 and South Dakota’s Measure 11.

Women are told everyday that vaginal birth puts their baby or babies at risk. Sadly, many of them grant consent to unnecesareans due to faith in medicine and cultural birth paradigms. Coerced medical interventions in pregnancy and labor assume maternal incompetence, both physical and mental.



Health of the Mother” does matter.

 

What would you do if someone told you that your upcoming birth, whether for suspected macrosomia, in a non-hospital setting, VBAC, breech or multiple, will harm your unborn child (or children) and that they planned to seek legal guardianship of the unborn baby? What steps would you take?
