Actor Taye Diggs appeared on The Ellen Show on October 15, 2009, and discussed his wife Idina Menzel and the birth of their now six-week-old son. According to Diggs, Menzel labored in a tub with a midwife and gave birth unmedicated like “a warrior.”

I often wonder what my husband thinks of our birth experience.
In the beginning it was always "whatever you want to do honey" but then after we had our kids he was talking it up (and cloth diapers) like it was his ever loving idea to begin with.
But I do wonder what he says about the experience from his point of view, when i'm not there. =)
Slightly off-topic, but mommymichael reminded me: one of the most gratifying moments in our partnership so far was when he recently described explaining the benefits of cosleeping to a friend of his who had just had a baby, *beam* I had to talk him into it at first, but he absolutely loves it now.
I love the fact that my husband (who was dead set against homebirth) now tells anyone and everyone to opt for a homebirth (if they are low-risk) after our successful one. :)
My friend's husband is something of man's man and apparently he gets all gushy and excited talking about their home birth with the guys and other pregnant couples. It's pretty sweet when partners are well supported throughout the process, too.
Taye Diggs.....very hard to concentrate on what that man is saying. Dayumm he is hot! His wife and baby are also beautiful. Great looking family!
This was fabulous, thank you for the link. My husband tried to convince me to have a homebirth with our son, but I listened to my mom and went to the hospital. Next baby will be born at home, in the birthing pool, and we can't wait!
Elita, my husband wanted me to get a midwife with our first. (He already had two kids.) I wanted to go to a hospital "just the first time," figuring I'd get my bearings in a "safe" place and go the midwife route next time. I ended up with an unnecesarean.
