Lynsee is in Labor, Broadcasting Birth Live Right Now
Lynsee, the Minneapolis, Minnesota area who planned to broadcast her birth live is in labor! She’s just moved from the birth ball to the shower (she’s on the ball in the shower), is supported by her husband and a doula (Edit: She was with her husband and mom) and has been eating toast.
Way to eat in labor!

Congratulations to Lynsee and little “Sugar Muffin,” as she called her. Her baby weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces and measured 18 inches long.
Regretfully, I awoke just in time for her to push out the placenta but was able to get a few screen shots.
This is a screenshot from earlier, before she got in the shower. I made and assumption that the woman pictured was her doula, but that’s Lynsee’s mom.

Immediate postpartum period:

The best smile I’ve seen in a long, long time:

High-tech warmer:

About 20 minutes post-partum:

About 24 minutes postpartum:

About 27 minutes postpartum, the midwife asks if she would like to try feeding her baby.

congrats on your little girl she is adorable. It was pretty exciting watching the live birth. I would say you are pretty brave. and to allow thousands of people watch you bring a miracle into the world is awesome. I have to also say you did amazing, I couldn't even tell you were pushing. Another Momma made to have babies !
Is it only live or is there a way to go back and watch the recorded birth?
That baby's smile is FANTASTIC. I also love the ecstatic look on mom's face as she is placed on her chest!
I know! That was right when I turned on the computer and I got all giddy and goofy. I remember that feeling of it being the middle of the night and thinking Whoa, a baby just came out. The baby is on the outside. These are very sweet moments to have recorded.
Martha, last night they were still replaying clips of it, I think, but not the whole thing.
