With more penguins! ;) I think the translation was simply trying to convey excitement...it worked, lol...Who doesn't love a Bonus penguin??

Maegan, true. I'm so grateful for the penguins that I have. Any new penguins are pure bonus.

I'm taking comment moderation off for an hour or two. I fear I will regret this when the Ugg boot spammers get a whiff of this open thread.

Within 15 seconds of taking comment moderation off, some turd left a Gucci handbag spam comment.

Spammers make me itchy.

Penguins are pretty awesome. :-)

Still reading! I don't get to participate as much these days, Le Sigh.

One of my oldest friends was in early labor last time I talked to her. 2nd baby, 2nd planned natural birth, but if all goes well, first natural birth! She's planning an HBAC. I haven't heard anything in HOURS and I'm ITCHING to txt! I don't want to invade their space though, so, waiting. I was invited to doula but couldn't because of lack of childcare. This is KILLING MEEEEE.

Someday, someday. In any event, send her some positive vibes!!!!

Rebekah, your post made me wonder if being an on-demand childcare person for midwives and doulas wouldn't be a good home business. Though they never have enough cash as it is so maybe not. Hmm.

earlier this year an old hometown friend of my husband's was asking him about vbac resources (yes, him. apparently he has a reputation for being knowledgable about birth?). I am happy to report she had that vbac this week. :)

I have no clue where to get my Uggs and Gucci bags anymore.

Oooh, Rixa posted a great (and amazing) necessarean story:

Another Rachel, LOL. I never considered that you felt so lost without those valuable comments.

November 22, 2010 | Registered CommenterJill

Emjaybee, that story is amazing. How many women would know to self-Trendelenburg?

So, we're moving and trying to find a new place. It's basically between Space and Location. How bad is it that one of my thoughts for the Location house was "yeah, but if we get that one I definitely can't have a baby in the next two years"? Uhm, hello, I have a 10 year old, 4 year old, and 7 month old - I can wait. I love babies, though, and Fat A's little squishy legs are starting to carry him places. REPLACEMENT TIME.

I am also amazed by the spammers. I need to know how they work. Perhaps I'll go undercover...

Just saw a search come in for "Jill the Unnecesarean." Kind of like Conan the Barbarian or Jack the Ripper. Or Andre the Giant, but without the posse. (sad panda)

ANA, as you know, we can get away with smaller places in non-snowy locations. I'd lean toward Space personally, but I fully admit that it's from being crammed in 800-ish square feet for so many years.

It's hard for me to imagine A walking already. Unbelievable.

Another award-winning search: "advantages of forced C-Sections"

I got a phone call tonight from a mom looking for info on vba2c. Her first c/s was for an intrapartum and previously undiagnosed vasa previa. When she told me her story my just heart broke. What a rare exception to speak to a woman who had a true necessarean. I'm saying a prayer for her and her angel baby tonight.

Hi Jill. I saw a post today by a new clinic at B.C.'s Women's Hospital. The clinic is called the "Power To Push" This post claims you are a "friend of the Power to Push". I'd love know if this is true, as many women I talk to are very wary of this hospital . It would be really great if this clinic is all it claims to be and if you are really their friend that would be a step in the right direction.

Just wanted to say that 1) I love this blog and 2) as a doula in training, I'm proud to report that after a long battle with her OBs, my first "client" has found a doc that will let her try for a VBA2C! This OB is extremely supportive of VBAC and VBA2C with some minor considerations (constant telemetry monitoring) and is a great fit. So just wanted to let you know that they ARE out there.

Happy early Thanksgiving!

That on-call childcare for doulas/midwives is something to think about... My cousin was going to doula for me with my last baby but couldn't find anyone to watch her kids. Though I was in labor for all of an hour so she wouldn't have made it anyway, but still...

Penguins have the whole birth thing figured out. Lay a tiny egg relative to your body size and you will never have a dystocia or become eggbound.
