The Today Show ran a commercial for Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston in the form of a morning news segment. Approximately 5,000 babies are born at BIDMC every year, and approximately 2,100 of those born via cesarean section. Beth Israel Deaconess has the fourth highest cesarean rate in the state of Massachusetts, reporting a whopping 42 percent in 2007.
