I had a baby at Florida Hospital South (where I think the hospital above is) in 1982. I think the c/s rate then was about 17%, exhorbitant for the time. I was very lucky not to have a cesarean, although I did have a mediolateral episiotomy that went down and into my thigh muscle. One of the birth centers I worked at had FL Hospital S as its back-up hospital; I've had many births there. Breaks my heart the c/s rate is so, so high.
