Monday Open Thread
While I am at the Health 2.0 Conference, I am leaving today’s open thread in the good hands of one of my favorite commenters and best friends, SaanenMother. I encourage you to make huge plans to change the world with her here today. To that, SaanenMother says “right on” and wanted to share this picture with you.

Must we keep the Captain Morgan pose while we change the world?
Hahaha... "Birth Lube".
Right now, I am watching reruns of BH 90210 a show that I passionately love and will watch over and over. My children both already know all the characters and their histories having been through the entire series at least twice since birth.
It may sound a little bad to plug your own blog on another, but I wanted to say in Open thread that I am starting a 4 part blog series about the attack on birth and birth choices. I want to hear from men, women, doctors, midwives, etc, and especially women who consider themselves feminist about the subject of natural birth and whether or not it really matters in the grand scheme of things. I know this description of what I am doing the questions are vague, but I am just putting it out there. If you are a person who is interested in being interviewed and quoted..please contact me on facebook (if you now me on there) via private message or by email at pnb.doula@gmail.com Please write RE: blog interview in the subject line.
Thank you,
Patrice

where are the leg warmers? how can one truly be right on without appropriate fashion ....what is this world coming to ?
I should go to the gym and eat salad, I get it already!!!!
Patrice, that sounds really interesting. Maybe I'll contact you...
Patrice gets a mighty right on for tackling this subject: RIGHT ON!
I thought we could start a run on of comments on where we are at in our truth about birth whatever it is, I guarantee you I am gonna give you too a mighty right ON. Last night, for example my friend Ruby had to as part of her doula training attend a childbirth education class and after attending she commented- "I don't care what the mother wants when I attend a birth: you want to have no drugs- you want an epidural- I'll see what we can do to get it to you as fast as possible." So to you Ruby- I give you a RIGHT ON for caring for mothers and any choice they want during their birth no matter what the setting is. RIGHT ON baby.
I second that RIGHT ON from conference-land.
Hey, I missed the open thread cuz I was busy giving birth to a gorgeous little girl yesterday! Aleyda was born at home in a pool after just 5 hrs of labor, 8lbs and 20 inches even. I lost a lot of blood as I am prone to do and so had to get an IV, but our great homebirth team had everything in hand as they should have. I'm on bedrest for a week, but my wonderful hubby is here helping with everything.
Anywho, I wanted to share :)
